Every month, the OSF Home Care staff is proud to receive letters and notes of praise from patients and families that they have helped through the home care process.

Here are a few of our most recent favorites:

  • "Thanks to everyone that made our loved one's life comfortable and for fulfilling his final wish of staying home."

  • "Thank you for providing knowledge and comfort that we needed during this difficult time. It meant more than words can express and this special extra time with our loved one was priceless. I want to specifically recognize our nurse Deb and social worker Theresa as they did an outstanding job consistently providing comfort and care throughout their time with us. And thanks to the nurse Jan - she had never met us, but knew just what to say when she arrived at the end."

  • "Words cannot express the comfort your team gave to our family in his final days. Your work and dedication are greatly appreciated."

  • "We would like to thank you for the compassionate care you recently provided for our father. We appreciated your attentiveness to Dad's needs and your availability to both Dad and us and the clear and caring explanation of what was happening each step of the way and what to expect next. You really helped all of us through a difficult time."

  • "A 40-year-old patient had one last wish - to hold a child before she died. OSF Home Care nurse, Alanna Nalley, decided to take her baby to see the patient on a Friday. She had the baby dressed up in a beautiful red velvet dress with white leggings and white satin slippers. She also had a red and white Christmas headband on. The baby was absolutely adorable and dressed perfectly for the occasion. Alanna took her daughter and met with the patient and stayed quite some time, long enough for patient to hold her and watch her being fed and changed. The patient was absolutely in awe and very thrilled that her last wish had come true. Days later, the patient died very peacefully with her loved ones by her side. This is what we do."
