Bathroom Safety
  • Turn down the temperature of the water heater to 115-120 degrees F.
  • Put non-skid mats, abrasive strips, or textured surfaces on the bottom of the tub or shower.
  • Use night-lights so it is easier to find the light switch.
  • Use a bath bench or shower stool with non-skid tips as a seat for safety while showering or bathing.
  • Use only grab bars specifically designed for the purpose of support, not towel racks, when getting into and out of tub or shower.
  • UNPLUG all small appliances (hair dryers, shavers, and curling irons) when not in use.
