| Meet Dr. Robert Sawicki
Robert Sawicki, M.D., is the medical
director for OSF Home Care. In this role, he serves all OSF Home Care
service areas in central Illinois. Dr. Sawicki began practicing medicine
in Bloomington/Normal in 1983. He joined the OSF Medical Group in 1993.
Dr. Sawicki has demonstrated a true commitment to OSF Home Care. He has
served as the hospice and home
health medical director in Bloomington and has been an active member of
the OSF Home Care quality council, professional advisory board, ethics
committee and patient safety committee. A published author, Dr. Sawicki
has contributed to educational conferences throughout the state as
keynoted speaker and presenter on end-of-life issues.
Dr. Sawicki earned his bachelor’s degree
in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He
earned his Medical Degree at Rush University and completed family
practice residency at the University of Illinois at Rockford in 1986.
Dr. Sawicki is certified by the American
Board of Family Practice and American Board of Hospice and Palliative
Medicine. In addition, he is trained in Education in Palliative and
End-of-Life Care (EPEC). He is a member of the Illinois Academy of
Family Physicians. He is also a current member of the American Academy
of Family Practice, American Medical Association, Illinois State Medical
Society, National Hospice and Palliative Care Association and American
Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care. In addition, Dr. Sawicki is a
clinical associate professor for Southern Illinois University in the
department of family practice.
