How does OSF Home Care Telehealth
work?
The system is easy and convenient to use. Each morning, the monitor
talks the patient through the process, then automatically transmits the
data to OSF Home Care where our staff will clinically reviews their
condition and responds appropriately.
How is this system and the information
useful?
Vital
signs are stored in a central station at our office and available at
anytime for your physician's review. For instance, we can fax a graphic
trend of a patients’ vital signs the morning of their office visit. This
capability is especially useful in treating post-surgical patients,
congestive heart failure patients, hypertensive patients and those on
beta-blockers.
How are the peripheral attachments
useful?
The peripheral attachments support active clinical
management of diabetes, pulmonary disorders and those on Coumadin.

To provide this enhanced level of care, OSF Home
Care has partnered with HomMedTM LLC, the leading supplier of
home telemonitoring devices. The HomMedTM Health Monitoring
System has been extensively tested in several major teaching
institutions and is currently being utilized in numerous clinical sites
throughout the United States with outstanding results. The HomMedTM
Health Monitoring System has the Federal Food and Drug Administration's
510-K Class II status approval.
