Admission Services
- OSF Home Care Admission provides
a one-call referral service for all your home health needs. This
includes Medicare certified home health, private home care services,
home medical equipment and home infusion therapy needs. It's quicker,
simpler and designed to save valuable time normally taken to complete
this complicated process.
Home Bound
- This means that due to your illness
or injury it takes a considerable taxing effort for you
to leave your home and your absences are infrequent and of short
duration. You can still be considered homebound if you leave home to
attend a religious service or to receive health care treatment,
including regular absences to participate in therapeutic, psychosocial,
or medical treatment in a state licensed / certified and / or accredited
adult day-care program. If you are able to drive, then you probably
do not meet the homebound requirement.
Home Care -
Home care includes Medicare-certified home
health agencies, hospice care, private duty services, home infusion
therapy and home medical equipment.
Home Health
-
Medicare-certified home health agencies
providing intermittent nursing, physical, occupational and speech
therapy, medical social services and home health aide services. These
services are ordered by a physician and focus on helping the patient to
be as independent as possible.
Home
Infusion -
Home infusion therapy involves the
administration of medications using intravenous, subcutaneous, and
epidural routes (into the bloodstream, under the skin, and into the
membranes surrounding the spinal cord).
Home
Medical Equipment -
Home Medical Equipment (HME) is any equipment that provides therapeutic
benefits or enables the beneficiary to perform certain tasks that he or
she is unable to undertake otherwise due to certain medical conditions
and or illnesses. HME includes equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital
beds, traction equipment, canes, crutches, walkers, kidney machines,
ventilators, oxygen and other medically needed items.
Hospice
- A facility or program designed to provide a caring environment for
supplying the physical and emotional needs of the terminally ill.
Health Watch
- Health Watch is a personal monitoring system that provides immediate
response to any situation 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week at the push of a
button.
Private
Home Care -
A program that provides individuals of
all ages with nursing, personal care, homemaker and companion services
in homes or facilities (hospitals, nursing homes, assisted-living
facilities) up to twenty-four hours a day. Services are paid by the
individual. Generally, specific criteria must be met in order for
insurance companies, workers compensation or government programs to
cover the cost of the services.
Respiratory Services - OSF Home Medical
Equipment specializes in the management of chronic respiratory
conditions. They offer many services including (but not limited to)
supplemental oxygen, respiratory medications, nebulizers, ventilators
and aerosol therapy.
